What to send
A useful request includes:
- the page URL;
- the exact statement, caption, image, or section at issue;
- the reason it may be incorrect or outdated;
- the current source or supporting information;
- the date the source was checked; and
- a way to reply, when a response is requested.
Priority review categories
Priority review applies to:
- incorrect age or identification rules;
- materially wrong operating hours;
- inaccurate safety or emergency information;
- a misidentified person;
- an incorrect current schedule;
- an image-source or caption error;
- a materially inaccurate commercial disclosure; and
- an accessibility statement that could affect trip planning.
Image and privacy concerns
For an image concern, identify:
- the page URL;
- the image or caption;
- the factual, attribution, privacy, or context issue; and
- any supporting source.
The publication may correct the caption, replace the image, crop it differently, add context, remove it, or retain it after reviewing the specific issue.
What happens after a request
The publication will:
- identify the disputed material;
- review the source and current evidence;
- compare the public statement with the evidence label;
- decide whether to correct, qualify, update, replace, remove, or retain the material;
- update the public date only when substantive work occurred; and
- record a material correction when reader understanding could be affected.
A request does not automatically establish that the page is wrong. The publication evaluates the specific issue and the available evidence.
Correction timing standard
- Safety, age, identification, privacy, and materially incorrect operating information: priority review.
- Name, schedule, image-attribution, and accessibility issues: prompt review.
- Other factual disputes: documented editorial review.
- Differences of opinion: no correction unless the page misstates the evidence, author, criteria, or factual basis.
Public correction format
Recommended format:
CORRECTION — [DATE]: An earlier version of this page stated [OLD STATEMENT]. It has been changed to [NEW STATEMENT] because [REASON AND SOURCE].
For a clarification:
CLARIFICATION — [DATE]: This page has been updated to distinguish [FACT / VENUE STATEMENT / EDITORIAL VIEW / FIELD NOTE OBSERVATION].
Date integrity
Publishedmeans the first public publication date.Updatedmeans material editorial work occurred.Last verifiedmeans named sources were actually checked.Field-observation datemeans the relevant experience occurred during that period.
A date is not changed merely to make a page look current.
Current-source conflicts
When current official sources conflict, the publication may show both statements, identify the conflict, and direct the reader to confirm the point with the controlling provider.
The site does not silently choose the more convenient source.
